Noah is embarking as a student therapist in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Friends University to become an inclusive ally for individuals, couples, and families who seek additional support. He has a profound interest in aligning with clients’ perspectives as they navigate unique challenges by leaning into their experiences, drawing upon their strengths and the belief that as active participants, they have the power to change. In joining with clients, together they explore distinct patterns with a value on choices and a sensitivity towards specific influences while considering and integrating alternatives. He is inspired by our inherent resilience and ability to associate intense sensations with comfort and mastery to lead enriched lives. Essentially, by nurturing safe, meaningful conversations along with times spent in relative closeness allows us to rediscover ourselves and gain an appreciation of others which fosters compassion, effective communication, and relational well-being.

Elizabeth Mills, Student Intern Therapist

I am currently a student at Friends University in Overland Park, KS working to obtain a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I graduated from Kansas State University in 2017 with a Bachelors degree in Family Studies and Human Services with a minor in Conflict Analysis and Trauma Studied. Often when explaining what this is to others, I say "I have learned how to work with others!" That is something I value in my everyday life as I believe relationships impact our lives and are impacted by our lives. By understanding the relationships and family systems we find ourselves in, we can work through conflicts within ourselves and within our relationships. I strongly believe in meeting where people are at to help by offering a safe, compassionate, and supportive space to learn and thrive, and not just survive.
